What to do when your Real Estate Agent diverts inquiries from your property to sell other properties?

sell my property quick

We hired agent, Hodges Real Estate in Melbourne who told us they were experts and would be doing everything possible to sell our property. This was back in property boom, when everything was selling. No action for months. Then we got several friends to call and ask about ours, and turned out the agent was running ours down, saying there was better available. They were offering to show other properties, and we were paying for the ads. Cost us nearly $100,000 in penalty interest & holding costs due to the delay. We finally sacked them when they ran out of Agerncy contract, new Agent sold property quick with no hassles.

  1. If you have solid proof that can stand up in court. File a lawsuit.

  2. Talk to an attorney tell them you had friends call and what your friends were told etc. you might be able to sue that company for lost profit.

  3. That is illegal, report them to your states Real Estate Agency.

  4. not unusual, realtors will blackball your property and make sure it never sells so you will take pennies on the dollar when you become frustrated enough. All is fair in love and real estate.
