How do you sell real estate property when it is owned by six people and it was left in a will to all of you?

Three members of the family want to sell the property while it has some value and the other three members do not want to sell.

  1. Hire a real estate attorney. If all six own the property equally, the ones who want to keep it can pay the others equal 1/6th vale of the property.

  2. You can’t. But the 3 who don’t want to sell can buy the other 3 out, if you can have a meeting of minds.

  3. You might want to consider having the three who want to keep the property buy out the other three.

  4. The property is there way to each of those who inherit interest in the will.
