how do you rent a flat when on housing benefit?
my partner is on incapacity benefit and i have recently been made redundant, we cant find any properties to rent as all say no dss and housing benefit, any ideas where to look?

go to your local housing authority they should be able to provide you with landlords who will take dss tenants. If you have been made redundant though you may not be eligble for benefit if you have had a redundancy payout. and before you think of hiding any money in someone elses account they will check!!!!! Your partner being on incapacity benefit will not have any bearing on your housing situation im afraid

have you tried the estate agents? i know 3 people who were in a similar position who went to an estate agency and were given a property by them, then the housing benefit pays the rent on their behalf.
That’s a tough one as you are right that most do say no dss. You will find the ones that take dss are in the rougher areas. When you look in the local paper at the rentals there are some that don’t say either way so phone all those up and at least ask. They are around but few and far between. Sometimes the dss office has a list of them,perhaps you could ask them and also occasionally an estate agent that deals in rentals has a list so go in the shop and ask them too.

Ik zou nog de raad contacteren omdat zij lijsten van priv? eigenaars hebben van wie eigenschappen zij zoals veilig zijnd (gas en elektrische tests) hebben doorgelicht en die eerder zullen HB goedkeuren. Ook, contacteigenaars die geen ' zeggen; Geen DSS '. Afhankelijk van uw tijd en omstandigheden, denk ik u een gelukkig zou goedkeuren. Het zou u betekenen die heel de raad moeten om hem betalen omdat wat maanden kunnen vergen om een HB eis te verwerken. Manchester vergt 2 jaar.
Niet zijn alle eigenaars zo onwetend en vooringenomen tegen mensen die HB eisen. Degenen zullen u bent overgekomen reusachtige hypotheken op het bezit hebben en baseren zich op lichtgelovig om het voor hen te betalen. In today' s het klimaat dit is belachelijk. U zou denken dat zij dankbaar zouden zijn om een huurder te krijgen dat de huur gewaarborgd is. Nog, zullen velen in staat van faillissement spoedig en de eigenschappen zijn die door councils/HA worden gekocht u hoe dan ook te huisvesten.
Een vriend van mijn verhuurt huizen en hij zegt hij minder ruzie van HB eisers dan zij heeft die de huur zelf betalen.
Ik denk wij de dag wanneer dergelijke berichten verklarend ' zullen zien; Geen DSS' zijn onwettig. De eigenaars kunnen ' niet meer zeggen; geen zwarten, geen Ierse ' enz. Waarom indien ' Geen DSS ' ben verschillend?
Een andere suggestie moet zich aan een verschillend gebied bewegen. Sommige plaatsen in het noorden/binnenlanden hebben lege eigenschappen die schreeuwen worden gelaten.
