housing benefit propertys (DSS)?
I need to find somewhere to live on the south coast of england that will acept HB/DSS. Between Sussex and Dorset. I have phoned about 40 differant estate agents along the coast none will accept DSS. Does anyone know where i can find HB propertys for rent?

I live in West Sussex and know that it is very hard to get private rent properties for people on benefit, I work with DV victims and have tried many times to rehouse them.
Sometimes you can find ads in the local papers for that area where landlords are prepared to accept benefits but they are few and far between. Some Estate agents will accept, especially if the local council runs a rent deposit scheme.
The only thing I can suggest is that you contact the council in the area you wish to move to and ask them if they have such a scheme and if they know of landlords in the area that can help you.
There is also a Charity called Shelter who deal with housing problems and may also be able to help you.
Good luck
I don’t think you have a hope. There is a maximum limit on housing benefit. Try to find out if there are any housing associations there – social housing is your only hope and then there will probably be a waiting list.
