Is the condominium manager suppose to replace our florescent kitchen light if we lived here less than a year?
The kitchen light went out in March this year and she is saying we have to replace the light which is a lot to do.If so,is there a code I can tell her to look in?
However we are only renting
The light is not a bulb..its those long lights..shouldnt she have to buy the light?

If your renting, appliance and fixture replacement is the owners responsibility. If it’s only the bulb(s) that went out,you may have to replace it.Find out who the owner is and ask.
If you’re talking about a florescent bulb going out, then yes, you shuold change that yourself. If it’s the whole fixture that’s bad then the landlord should have that replaced.
If you read your lease you will see where it specifies who has responsiblity for what. For normal lighting with reasonable access it is usually the tenant who has to replace burned out lights. If you don’t know how to do it then ask a friend or a handiman to do it for you.
Those long light things are bulbs. You have to replace the long light bulbs. The landlord would have to replace the electrical fixture if it was broken. Most likely it is just the bulb is burned out.
If it is only the bulb then you can replace it. Take the bulb with you or get the information off the bulb and get a replacement bulb from a hardware store.
It could be the ballast needs replacing.
If it’s the ballast, they should be able to replace it. But it all depends on what your lease agreement states.
Careful not to break the bulb, I believe it contains mercury.
If it is only the light bulb(tube) that is bad it is yours, however if it is the light fixture is bad then it should be the landlord. If it is the ballast in the light I bet that is yours too
