how to replace my bathroom lavatory?
i just moved into this old house and in the bathroom, the lavatory has 2 outlets for the water to run out:
1 for cold water and 1 separate for hot water.
to be simple, when i wash my face or brush my teeth the water is gonna be either cold or hot! i can’t mix both!!! it’s frustrating cuz i have to use a cup to mix hot and cold water.
how can i replace that so i can have only 1 outlet for my water so i can mix hot and cold water? it’s really annoying, i feel like i’m back in the medieval times.

Well best way is to buy you a new sink and install new valves on it. That way you can mix th ewater. But make sure that there are valves to turn off before taking anything apart. But if you don’t thing you can do it find someone that can do it for cheap. If you have a friend who can do it , it’s cheaper to take him out to dinner or somethiong else instead of hiring a plumber.
You can just replace the faucet and not the whole sink. Measure the spread of the holes for the exising faucet and take the measurements to a home store (Lowes, Home Depot) and select a faucet that will work. All new faucets have mixing valves to mix hot and cold water. There will be directions in the box on installation. Get some plumbers putty, teflon tape, and some large pliers and a pair of locking pliers and you’re in businesss. Good luck.
There is a lot of good information at this web site, but not all of it applies to what you want to do.
Go to your local hardware store and look at the products they have.
It is relatively easy to do if you have the tools and don’t mind crawling into the cabinet under the lavatory.
