How much would it cost to replace a set of 4 kitchen drawers?
The drawers in the kitchen of the apartment we are renting have completely come to bits – the bottom has fallen out of every drawer and it’s really hard to get them to open and close.
I’m wondering what ballpark price would have to be paid to get some very basic white replacement drawers.
Also – if you have any ideas – can this be easily done or do you need a carpenter?

DIY stores – cheaper
Carpenter – possibly more expensive but should last longer.
If you are renting, does your landlord not want to replace these for you?
White vinyl drawers will run about $30 each from Rockler, or you can get them in baltic birch plywood, or solid wood, which would cost more.
With these you supply the hardware, and the decorative drawer front.
You may be able to find some at a local building supply store, or cabinet shop.
Rockler also carries a variety of drawer glides and other hardware, should you need it.
I would check with the landlord before ordering new drawers.
I’ve installed and/or adjusted many drawers myself, as a contractor. It can be confusing for someone’s first time, but once you’ve done it, you’ll be amazed at just how simple it really is. A small torpedo level, and a screwgun, with an extended bit (and a good flashlight, lol) make the work much easier.
Good Luck
