Do you think its a good idea to replace hardwood flooring in the bathroom with tile?
Ok maybe this is a dumb question but I am remodeling an old house and the owner told me he wanted the hardwood flooring left untouched. However theres an old clawfoot tub in the bathroom and the floors and walls look like they keep getting soaked and I dont want the wall to rot through. What do you suggest I do?

I thought I would add that in exchange for rent we are fixing up this house because the people before us pretty much wrecked everything or neglected it. I just dont know how to let the owner know that the floor is really in bad shape and how to present the fact that he may have to replace it too.

ja, zou ik zeggen het… ik vervang denken alle bathroms tegelvloer zouden moeten hebben.
I would opt for tile. I just bought a new home with hardwood flooring in entire first floor including the guest bathroom and kitchen. I am finding the kitchen floor extremely hard to maintain. I would soo love to have those two sections done in tile. In your case especially if the bathroom in question has a tub, with the constant moisture and drips the flooring will go bad and show its age with cracks and separations between the panels much much quicker than the rest of the house.

Waarom iedereen zou hebben is een hardhoutvloer in een badkamers onbekend aan me. Zijn het gaan (als het hasn' t reeds) verrotting & afwijking. Maar als you' re niet de eigenaar, there' s niets u kunt juridisch doen. Verklaar uiteindelijk de risico’s, maar zijn het eigenaarsbesluit.
Ik zou voorstellen zettend geen hardhout in een badkamers. De tegel zou de #1 keus zijn. Het hout in een badkamers is naar voren gebogen aan schimmel wegens de vochtigheid die in een badkamers is. Maar u vermeldde dat de eigenaar wilde dat de hardhoutbevloering worden verlaten zodat zou ik dit met hem bespreken en zou hem van uw belang vertellen. De vorm is ook een gevaar voor de gezondheid, groeit de vorm en zal aan andere gebieden uitspreiden. Ik zou hem om met tegel overtuigen te gaan. Goed Geluk.

If you cannot remove the flooring, then covering it with tile will ruin the hardwood floor underneath forever, I suggest sanding the floor well, and apply several coats of good polyurethane, this will make the floor look so good and will last for a very long time even in the bathroom.
