  1. I just had it done in my bathroom by a reputable plumber and he charged $60. Last winter I had the local crooks (supposedly plumbers in a town nearby) repair a kitchen pipe and they charged me $300 for labor and parts and didnt do the job correctly and it started leaking again. Thank God my son came home for a visit and fixed it.
Take my advice and get the estimate before they start working. If they see you as vulnerable they will screw you over big time.
Im sorry. I know it sounds depressing, but I have been at the mercy of plumbers and even had a door put on that cost $ 290 and the guy stole my power tool and the door fell off the hinges.

  2. Total cost will be about $100. a lot depends on your local wages. They will probably replace the pipe with PVC. You may want to look for a handyman since this is an easy fix. When hiring a Plumber, you are paying for all his tools, insurance and travel. Most charge $25 to $50 just to come to your house.

  3. if it is a chrome p-trap that needs replacing the average is 125 supplied and installed unless it is soldiered to copper drain add about 50 to unsweat & replaced

  4. Yeah, Paul, your best bet is to get a lot of estimates. Call several local plumbers around to get free estimates.

So, hmm, for your convenience, you can also seek assistance from the following handyman site link, which includes on its web page a text-link ad that offers up to four (4) Free estimates from local plumbing contractors who can provide you free estimates and quickly, too (when you click on the link below, you’ll be taken to a handyman page where you’ll just scroll down a bit to arrive at the text-link, “Find Local Plumbing Services…Get Up to 4 Quotes Now…Free”):

Get your free estimates. That way you’ll get information that is relevant to your local area, including relevant costs. The rule of thumb is to get at least three estimates from which to later on choose the best estimate as to quality and price in order to avoid getting ripped off. Good luck with your plumbing repair!
