Can a small spot on a laminate kitchen floor be replaced, or do we have to replace the entire floor?
There is a spot on my floor (about 3 inches, square) that had water standing on it for a long time and we did not notice it until it was too late! The edges of that piece curled and chipped a little. Pleeeease help!

You can replace the square but it will be difficult to cut it to the exact match and even if you did there would still be a seam.
it can be fixed because I remember a pro showing a group of us,at a class I took,how to fix it …..can’t remember the specifics other than how to cut it out but it can be done…..my recommendation is to go to a local flooring store and talk to them and they probably have someone with some experience that can do it………….

Assuming you can find a spare piece of flooring that matches…….cut out a square patch from the new piece, being careful to match any pattern or texture in the damaged area you will be replacing. Place the patch over the damaged area, and with a SHARP lino knife, carefull trace around the patch ,cutting through the damaged flooring section. Lift out the damaged piece, insert the patch (which should be an exact fit, and seal the edges with a MEK bonding kit you can get at a flooring store. As previously mentioned, check with a flooring store anyway……just to see if they have any other tricks for the repair.
