How to buy property in Dubai, UAE?
Hi, I am a US citizen but would like to buy some property in Dubai, UAE. I heard that you are granted permanent residence if you buy any property. Can anyone tell me if it’s true and also the requirements and procedure to buy one? Thanks in advanced.

Ok yes US citizens can buy property in Dubai but you can only buy in certain areas. What you need to do is find a relater there to help you out. Just cause you own something does not mean you will be granted permanent residence there. Us citizens can only own so much and do so much.
You can purchase property in Dubai, but you will not be entilteld for a permanent residency visa. Right now you would get a residency visa, but on this visa you are not allowed to work. Regarding the news paper article giving below, this via rule should change:=
To buy property in Dubai or Abu Dhabi you need a registered developer who takes care of all necessary steps. But you still have to be aware that law in the UAE can change real fast without prior notice.
