How do I remove a boat from my property? The owner refuses to move it has no lease and is 90 years old?

Short version is pretty much above. I bought property there is a large boat on it. The old man that owns it can’t move it and I don’t know what to do quick easy and legally.
For those wanting to see the boat here it is:

Help me through the legal and move this thing and its yours. It is a 1987 Chris Craft Commodore that is 30 feet long and 12 feet tall. Been sitting in dry dock for many years. The old coot that owns it is too old to deal with it and is in a nursing home and doesn’t return calls promptly.

  7. Basically send a certified letter to the owner stating he has 60 days (which should be considered reasonable time) to remove his personal property or you will dispose of it and bill him for any cost of removal.

  8. Depending upon where you live, you could be issued a fine for having ‘junk’ on your property (my bogus town tried to do that to me for my classic cars).
Anyway, Contact the town – zoning office if you have one – and ask for help. Just to cover yourself, you might want to discuss your options with a lawyer. A lawyer could send a letter or better direct you within your state/county/town.

  9. Depending on local laws and just how bad you want to get rid of it, you can pay to have it moved to a junk yard or salvage yard. Most of the salvage yards can then begin to charge storage and file for ownership based on owed storage fees. If the boat is in good enough shape, the salvage guy may come and get it for free.
