Some countries let foreigners own and some do not. Such as in Mexico you can never really own exactly but you can own and pay a once every 10 year tax or something similar. Plus can or has the Government of Chile ever Nationalized private ownership of Real Estate and how stable is the country. Maybe you would be better off checking on Renting or something or just Staying when you feel like going. But then I'm not you... Good luck!!!
