The kitchen is about 10×10 and the countertop is L shaped and about 10′x6′. We do not want laminate, but the next step up. The tile we are looking at is about $1.75 per sq. ft. I jsut want to know if we can get this done for under $2000.

We just bought a new house and the countertops in the kitchen are like a blue green color and are hideous. They are laminate and look very cheap. Can I just take them off and replace them with travertine from lowes? If so what steps do i need to take? thanks!
